Monroe County Executive Adam Bello is reacting to a move by the Republican County Legislature Majority that he says would drastically change the way Monroe County government operates.
According to the County Executive’s Office, the Republican Caucus is seeking to pass what is being called the CABLE Act 2.0.
The legislation would eliminate the County Executive’s ability to “execute post-adoption amendments and modifications to contract authorizations, funding receipts, grant acceptances, and agreement authorizations.”
Bello says this roadblock would undo decades of practice and would drastically slow down County government.
Bello says the Republican Majority Caucus is putting politics ahead of the people they were elected to represent.
