The Regal Cinemas chain will be closing nationwide on Thursday, and New York State's coronavirus regulations are being cited as a reason.
The chain says Governor Cuomo's decision to keep theaters closed to keep COVID-19 cases in check has caused significant damage to its bottom line.
There are currently 44 Regal Cinemas in New York including three in our area.
A spokesman for the governor says the state is trying to keep a second wave of coronavirus from hitting and that people have to realize we're still in a global pandemic.
