SUNY to Ramp Up COVID-19 Screening

SUNY Chancellor Doctor Jim Malatras says the amount of COVID-19 screening that can be done on the campuses is about to increase.

The state has secured five more machines in hopes of being able to process 120,000 tests a week.

Each machine costs about $100,000 and will be used by the lab at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.

One of the machines also screens wastewater, which can provide a clue the virus may be infecting students in a certain dorm.
