The President of the Rochester Police Locust club called Wednesday for Mayor Lovely Warren to resign...following the turmoil of the last week that ended with the retirement of Police Chief La'Ron Singletary and the retirement or reduction in rank of his entire command staff.
Mike Mazzeo says he's frustrated with how the mayor has been handling the situation and that officers do not have the support of City Hall.
Responding to Mazzeo, Mayor Warren said “For 30 years, the problem with policing in Rochester is cops like Mike Mazzeo that watch the video of Daniel Prude’s death and see nothing wrong." The mayor said it's Mazzeo who should resign, and his "archaic ways of policing are no longer wanted in the City of Rochester."
