City Council Sends Letters to Mayor, NY Attorney General Over Prude Death

The Rochester City Council has issued a pair of letters this afternoon about the death of Daniel Prude......one slamming Mayor Lovely Warren for failing to inform councilmembers about the death of Daniel Prude in March, and one urging State Attorney General Leticia James come to Rochester to brief the community on what she's doing to investigate his death.

Prude died of asphyxia after three Rochester police officers restrained him and he stopped breathing.

The council letters say members are shocked by the information released yesterday and also calls on the mayor to have charges dropped against nine people who were arrested for protesting at the Public Safety Building yesterday. It also says the officers involved in the Prude case should be placed on administrative leave.
