State Voter Assistance Site Giving Wrong Answers

A New York State website that is supposed to help voters find their Election Day polling place has been providing incorrect addresses. Callers to NewsRadio WHAM1180, and our own reporters, have been spotting the mistakes.

Some suburban callers were told their polling place is in the city. One of our staff was given a Brockport location 25 miles from his home in Henrietta. Another votes in Greece, but the site directed him to Andrews Terrace on St. Paul Street downtown.

The State Board of Elections says it was mistakenly sent an incorrect mapping file of polling places by the Monroe County Board of Elections. It says the confusion has now been fixed and voterlookup.elections.ny.gov will have the correct information up by Saturday morning.
