U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer Calls for Pandemic Relief Funding for USPS

U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer says if Congress can’t come together to negotiate another pandemic relief bill, the Rochester-Finger Lakes region’s post offices will suffer.

Schumer was in the Rochester area today, where some have seen mail delays recently.

Schumer says he is concerned about the delays and what it means for deliveries of medications, absentee ballots or paychecks. And says he is trying to get something done in Washington.

The USPS is looking at a major financial hit because of the pandemic.

Schumer says the WNY District of the USPS cannot afford cost cutting measures like a major slash in the workforce or a closure.
