The Orleans County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 16-month-old child. Orleans County 911 received a call around 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday with the report of a child drowning in a pool in the Town of Barre. Deputies, COVA Ambulance, Barre EMS and the Orleans County Emergency Management Office responded.
CPR was administered on scene and for about an hour at United Memorial Medical Center. The child could not be resuscitated.
The sheriff’s office says they do not suspect foul play.
