YMCA Closes Monroe Ave, Victor Branches

The YMCA of Greater Rochester says the coronavirus pandemic has left it no choice but to permanently two branches. CEO George Romell says the branch on Monroe Avenue in Rochester and the branch in Victor will be shut down.

The Monroe Avenue building will be turned over to the Center for Youth and the pool will be filled in to create a multi-purpose space.

Romell says attendance at both branches was down to unsustainable levels even before the pandemic.
