Two Sentenced for Food Stamp Fraud

Federal prosecutors say two Rochester men have been sentenced for Food Stamp fraud.

Hicham Khallad was sentenced to 45 days in prison followed by three years of supervised release, and Karim Euchi received a sentence of two years' probation. They were ordered to jointly pay more than $74,000 in restitution to the federal government. Both men operated the Joseph Market on Joseph Avenue in Rochester, where they accepted food stamps for non-food items like cigarettes...and also bought up food stamps for cash at less than full value, which is illegal.
