A house on Arnett Boulevard was heavily damaged by fire yesterday. Crews arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the side of the two-and-a-half story house and saw people escaping by climbing down from the porch roof. Two cars were on fire in the driveway. Everyone made it out of the house safely, and firefighters rescued the family's dog. A broken hydrant hampered their efforts to fight the fire, and all three floors of the house were heavily damaged. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it may have been caused by a discarded cigarette.
