Don't Have "False Sense of Security" Over Coronavirus Tests

Monroe County Health Director Doctor Michael Mendoza is urging people not to stop taking precautions against the coronavirus just because they got tested and got back negative results.

Mendoza says getting negative test results shouldn't give you a false sense of security, or lead you to forget about masking and social distancing.

In an afternoon press conference, Dr. Mendoza says test results should take about three-to-five days, but could take as long as two weeks if your case isn't considered urgent. He says people checking into hospitals, health care workers and people with symptoms will usually get their results back faster.
