Man Rescued From Gorge

A 41 year-old Rochester man is in the hospital after he was rescued from the Genesee River Gorge yesterday morning.

The man had fallen to the bottom of the gorge north of the Driving Park Bridge.

Police and fire personnel responded and say the man fell about 30 feet after losing his footing, then slid another 40 feet down the gorge wall.

He was rescued by a fire department boat and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he's in critical but stable condition with numerous injuries.
