Man Rescued from Genesee Gorge

A 41-year-old Rochester man was rescued from the Genesee River Gorge this morning after he fell to the bottom of the gorge north of the Driving Park Bridge.

Police and fire personnel responded and say the man fell about 30 feet after losing his footing, then slid another 40 feet down the gorge wall. He was rescued by a fire department boat and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he's in critical but stable condition with numerous injuries.
