A petition to rename the Greater Rochester International Airport to the Frederick Douglass International Airport will be presented to Monroe County Executive Adam Bello.
The change dot org petition created over the weekend has gained more than 1,200 supporters.
A local supporter says the renaming will “honor one of our country’s greatest citizens” and “deliver a message of hope to the world”.
The airport is owned and operated by Monroe County
