Half-a-dozen people were shot early this morning when gunfire broke out during a large fight at North Clinton Avenue and Kelly Street.
Police officers who heard the gunfire ran towards the scene and found two victims in the crowd who had been shot. Multiple officers were called in to help secure the scene so the victims could be treated. While that was going on, four more victims were brought to area hospitals by their friends.
The victims range from 24-to-30-years-old. All are expected to recover.
Police securing the scene saw a car drive away at high speed. It crashed into two parked police cruisers and was stopped a short distance away. Police found the 28-year-old woman driving that car was drunk and charged her with DWI. None of the people in the car or any officers were injured.
