The City of Rochester is creating an online database of police department disciplinary records.
It's in response to the recent repeal of Section 50a of State Civil Service Law, which kept the records sealed.
Once the database is ready, city officials say anyone will be able to access the records without having to file a Freedom of Information Request.
Records are being digitized with a goal of having the database up and running before the end of the year.
Meantime, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office says it is creating what it calls a "new mechanism" to provide disciplinary information about deputies.
