Good Samaritan Drowns After Sodus Point Rescue

A 20-year-old Wayne County man died yesterday in the hospital after he jumped into Lake Ontario to help with a rescue effort and got in trouble himself. Draven Starr-Howell was fishing at Sodus Point Pier when three women got into trouble in two-foot waves and a strong undertow. Starr-Howell was among a group of people who jumped in to help a sheriff's deputy rescue them, and he was pulled under by the waves.
