More police reform legislation is being signed off in New York. Governor Cuomo says the STAT Act requires state and local law enforcement officers to verbally report to a supervisor when they discharge their weapon within six hours. They must also prepare and file a written report within 48 hours of the incident. Officers will be required to provide medical and mental health attention as well to individuals in custody and courts will have to compile and publish racial and other demographic data of all low-Level offenses.
