Thousands March Across Rochester Area

From New York City, to Rochester, to Buffalo, tens-of-thousands were in the streets Saturday afternoon calling for justice for George Floyd and for police reform. Two Black Lives Matter protests took place in downtown Rochester afternoon...eventually merging into one. Thousands sat down at Parcel 5 and called for an end to racism and police reform, and they registered people to vote.

The Demonstrators want charges dropped against those accused of violence and looting last weekend in Rochester...they want police officers removed from city schools...and they want the police department defunded. Marches also took place in Brighton, Victor and other communities across the region.

Rochester police have made another arrest in last weekend's rioting in Rochester. They've charged 21-year-old Walter Hendrix of Rochester with rioting and criminal mischief for smashing the windshield of a Rochester police car. He was also charged with criminal contempt for a non-related offense. He's being held in the Monroe County Jail pending a bail review.
