Monroe County Executive Adam Bello has vetoed a proposal that would have created six new supervisory positions within the Monroe County Board of Elections.
The measure approved by the Legislature would have increased taxes for county taxpayers by $500,000 a year.
According to Bello, the Board of Elections had said this would be the first re-organization of the board in over 30 years. Bello says any restructure of this magnitude needs to be done through a regular legislative processes and not rushed through.
