Gov. Cuomo Urging Protesters to Demand Changes in the Law

Governor Cuomo is urging protesters to use their mobilization to make positive changes in policing.

Cuomo said yesterday, George Floyd's death in police custody should not be in vain.

The Governor also said protesters should use this moment to demand changes in the law, including a national definition of excessive force, and the release of an officer's prior disciplinary record when under investigation for abuse allegations.

Meantime, Cuomo said, the state Attorney General will review police conduct during the protests.

He added that while officers are in an impossible situation in many ways, their behavior in the videos is disturbing.
