The Ontario County Health Department is investigating 26 new cases of COVID-19 at Elm Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Canandaigua.
The health department says it's working with the Elm Manor management to investigate the cases. They say 24 are in patients at the facility, and two are employees, one of whom lives in Wayne County. The nursing home is said to be taking action to reduce the possibility of further spreading the virus.
An Elm Manor representative says the home has provided the highest level of quality professional nursing services, and will continue to monitor every resident and staff member. They say their staff is safe.
Ontario County Public Health says it's working closely with the State Health Department on investigating this outbreak and preventing further spread.
