NYS Numbers Released Showing Economic Impact Of COVID

New numbers from state Comptroller Tom DiNapoli show clearly how the coronavirus shutdowns are hurting the state's economy.

Sales tax collections in the state fell 24% last month, compared to the same month a year ago.

Revenues for the month fell by $327 million.

What's not clear is how much commerce has moved online in the last month. Sales tax collection figures from online businesses for April are not available yet.
