New Rules Introduced To Decrease COVID Spread In Nursing Homes

Steps are being taken to reduce the spread of coronavirus in New York's nursing homes. Governor Cuomo announced yesterday that hospitals can't discharge patients to those facilities if they've tested positive for the disease.

Staff members at nursing homes also need to be screened twice a week for the virus. Also, any nursing home that can't provide proper care to a patient must send them to another medical facility. Nursing homes caught breaking the rules run the risk of losing their license.
