Camping Season Start Delayed In NYS

The start of camping season is being pushed back in New York State.

State-run campgrounds won't be allowed to open until at least June 1st.

That's devastating news to regions of the state that count on tourism during Memorial Day weekend.

The Department of Environmental Conservation says anyone who has already paid for a reservation can get a refund.

Some state-run campgrounds were planning to open last month, but that was delayed by concerns about the coronavirus.
