Monroe County is announcing a new initiative to get face masks to residents that need them.
County Executive Adam Bello says the county was able to acquire one million more face coverings through a reimbursable expense covered under the federal CARES Act.
Congressman Joe Morelle says what he believes is so important is being able to give resources to local communities and let them decide what's in the best interest for their community.
Bello says the masks will be distributed at no additional cost starting this weekend and that now more than ever it is critically important that residents wear a face covering whenever they are out in public.
