Canandaigua Police say they charged a 21-year-old Monroe County man with possessing images of a sexual performance by a child after his cellphone was found at a daycare facility in Canandaigua.
There was no information leading directly to the phone's owner, but it turned out to contain child porn images that appeared to have been downloaded from the internet. An extensive investigation traced the phone back to 21-year-old Jeramy Rivera of Brighton, who worked at the daycare. Rivera was processed and released on an appearance ticket for Canandaigua City Court.
Police say this is an ongoing investigation and more charges are pending. They're also looking for any further information and to address concerns of parents who had children enrolled in the center while Rivera worked there.
