National Grid is warning western New Yorkers of a scam going around.
The utility company says impostors are calling demanding immediate bill payment or be disconnected. The scam is targeting customers already facing hardships due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
They even have the company name show up on caller ID. National Grid reminds customers it will not contact customers demanding immediate payment by wire transfer, Green Dot Money-Pak or any other pre-paid card service
