Unemployment Payouts Delayed Due To Incomplete Forms

The state labor department says more than 86,000 people in the Rochester- Finger Lakes region have filed for benefits since the coronavirus shutdown began.

Commissioner Roberta Reardon says many New Yorkers are still not receiving benefits because they are not following all the necessary steps.

The state will send a letter to all applicants with information on how to file and will also send an email to make sure people know every step that is required.
