A Webster man is facing animal cruelty charges after injuring a dog with his vehicle.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and Ontario County Humane Society were called to property on Route 65 Saturday evening for the report of a man doing donuts.
Witnesses say the driver, later identified as Daniel Haas, chased a dog in the field and then intentionally struck the dog and dragged her under his vehicle for 5 to 6 feet.
He then allegedly used a head rest and began beating the dog with it.
Haas was arrested and charged with Aggravated Cruelty to an Animal (felony) and Animal Abandonment.
The dog, a one year old female white and gray Pit-bull, named DeeDee was taken by the Humane Society to a veterinarian and found to have severe trauma from this incident and is currently in guarded condition.
