New Guidelines Issued Regarding NYS Nursing Homes

New nursing home requirements are being outlined by New York State amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Governor Cuomo says nursing homes are a top priority and must abide by recently issued Executive Orders and Health Department guidelines.

Those include nursing homes having adequate personal protective equipment, isolating COVID positive residents, implementing temperature checks of staff, and making sure all residents and their family members are notified within 24 hours if any resident tests positive or suffers a COVID related death.

Governor Cuomo announced the State Department of Health is partnering with the Attorney General's office to investigate nursing homes who violate Executive Orders.
