Leaders from several area nursing homes, which make up the Alliance for Senior Care, are speaking about the impact COVID-19 is having on residents, staff and other employees.
The Alliance is a consortium of 5 non-profit nursing homes in the Rochester area that represent a third of all nursing home beds in the community.
Glenn Cooper, President and CEO of Friendly Senior Living, says all nursing home employees are working hard to combat COVID-19.
Dr. Kim Patrone, the Medical Director at St. Ann's Community says the alliance has been working diligently to proect the senior residents during this outbreak.
The alliance says 36 residents, and 27 staff members have become infected with the coronavirus since the outbreak began and there have been ten COVID-19 related deaths so far.
