NY Governor and AG Extend Order Halting Collection of State Owed Debt

The governor and the state attorney general have extended their order halting the collection of medical and student debt owed to the state for another 30 days.

The original 30-day order would have expired today.

The temporary relief is a response to growing financial impairments resulting from the spread of the coronavirus.

Next month, state officials will consider another possible extension.
