Gov. Cuomo Gives Update on COVID-19

Governor Andrew Cuomo is describing the new normal when state's begin reopening their economies. He said four steps are needed before the economy can return from the pandemic. First, control the rate of infections. Then strengthen the current health care system. The third step requires help from the federal government, testing and tracing patients with the infection. The final step is to phase in businesses based on priority and safety.

Cuomo said there were 606 deaths yesterday in New York. He said nearly all the data said the state is succeeding in flattening the curve, however he said it remains a concern that about two thousand people a day are still testing positive for the virus.

The Governor is also extending NY Pause through May 15th.
