Numbers from the state Department of Health show at least 14 of the COVID-19 deaths in Monroe County were nursing home residents.
And at least 11 more have died in nearby counties.
Health officials have not identified the specific nursing homes involved.
Statewide, nearly 2000 deaths have involved staff or residents at nursing homes. And infections have been confirmed at more than half of the state's licensed nursing homes.
