Rochester General Doctor Comments On Hydroxychloroquine Effectiveness

A doctor at Rochester General Hospital who has administered hydroxychloroquine to coronavirus patients says there's still no scientific proof that it works.

Dr. Mary Rose Laguio-Vila tells 13 WHAM doctors at RGH are continually assessing the drug's value.

She says one patient who got it locally recovered, but that's not much to go on.

Laguio-Vila says doctors are closely monitoring how patients are doing on the drug -- which can cause side-effects in people with pre-existing heart conditions.
