RCSD Board Members Propose Ideas For $20 Million Budget Gap

Rochester school board members are offering ideas on high to trim another $20 million from the budget for the next school year.

Some of the proposals include cutting funding for school resource officers, cutting funds for East High School, and delaying raises for union employees.

Other proposals include furloughs for teachers or staff who have been idle during the pandemic.

Superintendent Terry Dade is expected to discuss those proposals, and possibly others, at the next board meeting next Tuesday.
