Rochester House Fires Fought Overnight

Rochester Firefighters handled two house fires overnight.

The first came with a 911 call for a house fire at 11 Bartlett Street late last night. Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire on the first floor of a three-story apartment building. No one was home, but a vacant first floor apartment was heavily damaged. Nobody was hurt.

Then firefighters were out early this morning for a report of a room on fire and people trying to get out at 56 Davis Street. The RFD says the fire was quickly extinguished and everyone got out of the building. Four children and six adults were checked out by ambulance crews and assisted by the Red Cross to find temporary housing. The home suffered heat, smoke and water damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
