The death toll from COVID-19 in Monroe County has climbed to nine.
The County Health Department says there were 43 new confirmed cases yesterday.
The Health Department says that surge in cases is a bit misleading -- because it reflects testing from samples that were collected over a period of seven days. A large number of the results came back from outside laboratories on the same day.
There are now 300 confirmed cases in Monroe County....57 patients are hospitalized...and 24 are in intensive care.
76 patients have resolved.
