Tuesday PM Coronavirus Numbers Now Show 106 Cases

There are now 106 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Monroe County...11 new cases since the morning update and three deaths. The Monroe County Health Department says the new patients range from a woman in her 20s to a man in his 70s. Fifteen people are hospitalized; nine of them in intensive care. 472 people are now in quarantine or isolation.

More than 15-hundred people have now been tested locally for the coronavirus. There have been 106 positive results out of those tests.

Thirteen people are hospitalized as of Tuesday morning. The health department doesn’t release numbers of people who have recovered, but Dr. Mendoza says it’s in line with the national pattern, with about 80 percent recovering and most not becoming very ill.

Two Rochester Institute of Technology students have tested positive for the disease. One remains isolated on campus, and the other is quarantined elsewhere in the Rochester area, per RIT. The University of Rochester says one of its students and a staff member have tested positive. Neither is currently on campus. Their contacts are being traced.And a patient at the Jewish Home in Brighton is currently in isolation after testing positive. The patient had just been admitted for short term rehab and had automatically been put into isolation as are all new admissions to the facility.
