New York Won't Change Primary Voting Date

While the coronavirus pandemic continues, the process of deciding the Democratic nominee for president moves forward. Several states have delayed their primaries due to the disease, but Governor Cuomo says there are no plans to change New York's April 28th date.

Some lawmakers have suggested switching the primary date to June 23rd, but that would need the approval of the Legislature and governor. There is a push to expand absentee ballot access statewide, but no official plans have been announced yet.
