Monroe County is reporting its first death from COVID-19. Monroe County Health Commissioner Dr. Michael Mendoza says the person who previously tested positive for the virus passed away at Rochester General Hospital.
Dr. Mendoza didn't release any information about the person, but said in a statement that there were complicating factors that contributed to the death.
Monroe County continues to ask people to practice social distancing...staying at least six feet away from other people if possible. And stay home if you can, especially if you feel sick.
County Executive Adam Bello Says “I am deeply saddened to learn from Dr. Mendoza of the death today of a patient who earlier tested positive for COVID-19.
“Our entire community grieves this loss. My heart is with the patient’s family, and I ask the community to join me in keeping them in our thoughts and prayers.”
