Rochester fire crews battled a two alarm fire at a commercial building on Central Avenue early this morning (Sat). Crews arrived in three minutes to find smoke coming from the one-story brick building. They called a second alarm because there were multiple businesses in the building and fire was spreading between them.
Firefighters were able to keep the flames mostly confined to the brick building with minor damage to the buildings alongside. Some 55 firefighters were involved and it took them an hour to get the flames under control. There were no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
