Monroe County's first confirmed coronavirus patient is a Rochester man who arrived in the U.S. from Italy on Tuesday and reported his symptoms later in the day.
Public Health Commissioner Michael Mendoza says the man is in quarantine at home and health officials are tracking down the people with whom he had contact.
He was tested at Highland Hospital and the test came back positive last night.
Health officials are checking into where the man might have stopped on the highway on the way home from JFK airport.
They emphasize the man did everything right by reporting his symptoms right away and staying isolated.
