Health Department officials say a Livingston County man has tested NEGATIVE for the coronavirus after he was placed in mandatory quarantine.
Livingston County Health Director Jennifer Rodriguez says the man is in his 40s and lives in southern Livingston County. He began to feel sick after returning from a conference in Washington, DC. a week ago. A man with a case of the virus had attended that same conference.
On Monday night, Rodriguez says the man called Noyes Hospital in Dansville to report he might be a coronavirus patient and went to the hospital. Because they were alerted, hospital employees put on preventive gear to prevent possible spread of viruses.
The patient was immediately given a coronavirus test, which came back negative this afternoon (Tues). He's been sent home but is being monitored there by health officials who are tracking his progress.
