Governor Cuomo says federal officials have approved coronavirus testing at a second lab in New York State.
Northwell Laboratories on Long Island has been authorized to test under the emergency authorization granted last week to the Wadsworth Lab in Albany.
Cuomo says testing of up to 80 samples per day at Northwell will start immediately.
Cuomo announced this morning that there are now 142 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in New York State with the majority of the cases in Westchester.
Cuomo says the FDA still must increase the testing capacity for the state and private labs. He says automated testing could perform thousands of tests per day.
He says we can expect more positives cases as testing ramps up.
