Judge Telesca Passes

Former United States District Court Judge Michael Telesca has died at the age of 90. He had just retired from the Western District of New York.

Judge Telesca was the son of Italian immigrants, who loved presiding over the swearing in of new citizens. In a statement this afternoon, Judge Frank Geraci Jr called Telesca a judge who was cherished by those close to him, and someone who was able to communicate with anyone.

Geraci says Judge Telesca set the bar high for all who may follow.

Among the many noteworthy cases Judge Telesca handled were the embezzlement trial of former Rochester Police Chief Gordon Urlacher, and the Brinks Robbery.
