Plastic Bag Ban Delayed in NYS

It looks like store owners will have a little more time before being fined for handing out plastic bags.

Sunday, New York state's plastic bag ban was scheduled to go into effect, but convenience store owners and bag manufacturers filed a lawsuit calling it unconstitutional.

As a result, the state decided Friday to wait until April 1st to begin fining businesses that hand out plastic bags.

Retailers will eventually face a $250 to $500 fine.
