Governor Cuomo says New York has been approved by the FDA to perform its own testing for the COVID-19 virus.
Up until this weekend, tests had to be sent to the Centers for Disease Control labs, and it took a few days to get the results back.
Now the Wadsworth Center in Albany is certified to run the test, and the state hopes results will be quicker. Cuomo worked out the deal with Vice President Mike Pence.
